ALL THE SOCIETY NEWS THAT IS FIT TO PRINT

NEXT MEETING: Thursday, March 15, 2013 at the Roslyn Presbyterian Church,

140 E. Broadway,

Roslyn New York  at 7:30 PM

Well boys and girls if you're wondering where we have been for the last few months here is the scoop. The office computer died, so we got a new one, but the new one would not run any of the software necessary to update the website. So, it was either create a new website or search until I found something that would work. I just found something that would work.

What you may have missed:
We have been working feverishly to create educational programs for schools and libraries. At the moment it seems we will have five programs: A brief history of Scotland, bagpipers and piping, piping and Highland dance, the history of the Tartan and Scots in American history.

We had a Christmas shindig at which time Dave Cairins presented a program on the history of the Tartan. Quite interesting. Dave recently had a hip replacement so I guess that makes him the Bionic bagpiper.

There was no January meeting (just too much going on) but we are planning a February meeting on Thursday, March 15 at 7:30 PM.

We are gearing up to march in the Tartan Day parade. If you've never marched up the 6th Avenue in New York City, it's something you don't want to miss. Use the contact page on this website to let us know if you'd like to join us (bus transportation provided) and march in the parade. We would love to have you.
